We help families buy their own homes

BurtonHicks is in the business of assisting motivated people who want to buy their own home instead of paying rent but are frustrated by the hoops and hurdles of mainstream lenders – particularly the size of down payments or credit problems in their past. BurtonHicks will find, or help you find, a house within your budget that can gain value with basic improvements. We provide funding to purchase it for you as the prequalified family, and then sell it to you on an exclusive contract for a set price at a future date. We keep the down payment low to make it easier to get started and you, as the buying family, can decide when you’re ready to take ownership with a conventional mortgage. Usually that happens in 2-5 years. We have helped families buy their own homes across Stratford and the Counties of Perth, Huron and Oxford. The BurtonHicks name is a reference to family connections.

JIM HENRY
President

is the President of Burton Hicks Enterprises Inc. He has 30 years experience in the residential housing business, including not-for-profit housing. He has a solid reputation for honest, fair dealing in Stratford and the Counties of Perth, Huron and Oxford, and the growing list of families he helped purchase their own homes during the past 18 years. “We succeed when people are successful in buying a home, which is really the best piece of long-term financial planning you can have in place. And you get to live in it in the meantime.”

RAE NAFZIGER
Active Partner

has been a BurtonHicks Partner since 2006 when he, Jim Henry and 2 other investors formed BHN Properties Inc. Rae is a well known Perth County native who managed residential housing, and health and social service programs for 33 years in Perth and Waterloo Region. He assists families with the application process to pre-qualify for home ownership with the BurtonHicks program. “The way we fund the purchase of a home is actually quite simple, it’s just a slightly different process than what people are used to.”

DAVE HENRY
Active Partner

a Perth County resident, got involved with BurtonHicks in 2001 as an investor. He formed JDS Properties Inc. in 2009, and has helped 15 families purchase their own homes. As a BurtonHicks Partner, he is involved with construction and maintenance to get homes ready for our customers. “I enjoy helping people get out of the renting rut and seeing them succeed in home ownership.”
